International Motorsport Summit 2012

On March 1 2012, the 1st SPORT+MARKT and REPUCOM International Motorsport Summit took place at the Nürburgring. Around 100 decision makers from the motorsport business took part in this exclusive, invitation-only event. It represented the beginning of a new event series and a response from our Group to the growing need to address the special sponsorship and marketing requirements of the motorsport industry.

Top speakers provided a range of interesting presentations and discussion panels. From themes such as ‘The Value of Motorsport Investments’ and ‘Global Brand Activation and Integrated Communication in Motorsport’ to ‘The Future of Motorsport: Sport or Entertainment?’ and ‘Brand Building via Motorsport Engagement’, the International Motorsport Summit lifted the veil on a variety of interesting sponsorship and marketing topics.

With presentations from Aston Martin Lagonda, adidas International, Sauber Motorsport, JMI, The Sports Promoters and legal experts Michael Siebold and Dr. Thomas Dehesselles, a number of major players on the motorsport landscape provided their insights into strategy and activation measures as well as debate on the future of motorsport. A panel including representatives from major manufacturers Volkswagen, Chevrolet Europe und Aston Martin Lagonda discussed the brand value of engaging in motorsport to round off the official proceedings. TV personality Wolfgang Rother acted as moderator of the congress throughout the day.

A relaxed get-together the evening before and an exclusive dinner following the event itself, as well as the many attractions offered by the Nürburgring complex such as a visit to the 4D cinema, made for some superb networking opportunities.
